Shutterstrip – Why, Who and How?
Our goal is to increase productivity, reduce commercial costs and make working practices already in place safer and environmentally sound in the concrete.
With two worldwide patents, we have designed and developed a new product for the dispensing of admixtures that is advantageous to both the contractor and the operatives. What we are introducing to the market is a new way to accurately target any area of a formwork shutter whilst offering a safer solution to the current working methods in place.
Who’s Behind Shutterstrip?
ShutterStrip was the idea of managing director David Malcolmson who also invented our product construction joint retarder film. He gained his knowledge of concrete works from hands-on experience being a ground worker, concrete finisher, and tunnel caulker.
David brought onboard director Brian Fitzpatrick, an experienced miner, concrete worker and batcher. Between them, they have over fifty years in the industry and have spent the last five years working endlessly together to bring the company, and the first product to fruition, Construction Joint Retarder Film.
Ian Phillips has joined the business in the position of operations manager.
He brings with him over twenty years of end-to-end supply chain knowledge, manufacturing process and quality control. Having worked for various blue-chip companies, he has experience across different sectors and manufacturing practices.
Shutterstrip Development
Working in collaboration with chemical process engineers, product & construction designers, and mechanical engineers and carrying out research & development with health & safety executives has brought ShutterStrip to where it is today.
Our Vision
ShutterStrip will change the concrete industry for the better. We will be adding more products to our range of soluble films and other products that will increase productivity whilst also offering a safer alternative, helping to protect both personnel and the environment.
